Can children take communion? In The United Methodist Church, children are welcome to receive communion. Parents may decide when their child should begin receiving communion.

Why do most Methodist churches serve grape juice instead of wine for Holy Communion?

The use of unfermented grape juice by The United Methodist Church expresses pastoral concern for recovering alcoholics, enables the participation of children and youth, and supports the church’s witness of abstinence.
Is the church handicap accessible?
Our church facilities are wheelchair and walker friendly; large print bulletins and auditory aids are available upon request.
What is there for my kids?
The Youth and Kids Ministry Team provide a Sunday morning ministry in Room 201 (upstairs) for kids & youth ages 5 years through 12th grade! On Sunday mornings youth and children enjoy a fun activity time that includes an interactive Bible lesson.

We offer a nursery ministry in Room 102 during the worship service and during Sunday morning Community Groups (Sunday School). We provide a safe and loving environment that allows parents/ caregivers to attend worship and community groups with peace of mind, knowing that their children are safe and engaged in developmentally appropriate activities. Snacks are not typically provided, but please inform staff if your child has an allergy. For their own safety, children must be picked up by the same adult who checked them in.

All staff who work with Brooks UMC’s children are CPR and First Aid certified and have had background checks.
