Egg Rolls on Sale
The Brooks Methodist Women’s group are once again selling the delicious homemade egg rolls.   Please order your egg rolls to benefit the BMW missions. See Shirley Garrard, Carol Hammett or Patsy Culler for more information.

We need your pictures!
Please take a digital picture of your family or find a recent one that you can email to the church at brookschurch@bellsouth.net. We are putting together an informal collection of pictures for a binder to keep in the office to help our new pastor put names and faces together. It would also be nice if you could put together a short paragraph about your family and interests, activities and how you like to serve. Don’t let the paragraph keep you from sending the picture though. Send the picture and add the paragraph when time allows. If you are unable to send a digital picture, please bring in one that we can scan.

Preschool Volunteer Opportunity
Please sign up in the Narthex to read to our little preschool children or do a craft with them. We are trying to reach out in Christian love to our preschool friends. Thanks for your support!

Recycle Batteries
We have found a company to recycle all those little batteries you have around your house. Please put them in the container in the hall along with cell phones. Do not bring rechargeable or automotive batteries. They can be recycled locally. On the bulletin board in the hallway are helpful guides for recycling in Fayette County Please take one.

Recycle
There is a aluminum recycling trailer behind the church that the scouts take and make money for miscellaneous expenses they have.  Please help our earth and the scouts - RECYCLE!  Recycle your bulletin, please put it in the box marked ‘Recycle’ in the hall. Thanks for being green with us!

2010 Flower Calendar
The new calendar is up on the bulletin board and needs some names.  Please sign up to honor or remember a loved one for $30.00.  You can take the arrangement home after the 11:00 service.

***   Volunteers Needed   ***

Volunteers to Work in the Nursery
We need volunteers to work in the nursery from 11:00 am on Sunday mornings until church service is over. There will be a nursery worker in the room with you so you won’t have to be on your own! Please help us to take care of our church’s youngest members. You must be 18 years of age or older to volunteer. Please e-mail Lynn Lee to volunteer or you can sign up to volunteer on the sign up sheet located on the nursery door. Thank you in advance for all of your help!
  Fayette County Mentor Program
Fayette County Schools have a mentor program for students and currently are in need of 2 men volunteers. This is a very rewarding program and does not require a huge time committment. Contact Jean Gough at 770-460-3990 x255 if you would like more information or to volunteer for the program.

  Recycle Cell Phones
Recycling cell phones keeps toxic metals out of the environment. When recycled responsibly, the metals can be put back into circulation, decreasing the need for new metal mining. Did you know that there is enough gold in 200 cell phones to make a gold ring? Brooks UMC will become a partner with Earthworks in this effort. And the great news is that besides protecting the environment, Earthworks pays recycle my phone partners on average of $1.00 per phone! Look for the cell phone collection box in the hall. Ask your friends and neighbors for their old phones. Let’s collect 200 phones!

    Mission Opportunities
We are collecting gift cards from Target, Wal-Mart, Publix, Kroger, Ingles, etc. to have when needs arise throughout the year and especially during the holiday season.  Please contact Jane Mask or the church office if you have any questions.  There will be a box in Jill’s office labeled "GIFT CARDS" - Mission Committee.
Lay Readers - Attention All Ages!
If you would like to read scripture in worship, please see Rev. Lesley Langford.
