Brooks UMC's Youth Ministry is an exciting place for 6-12th graders to grow spiritually through a meaningful combination of discipleship, mission work, and relationships with each other. We provide both regular activities and special events throughout the school year and summer to help students grow in their faith and to share God’s love with others. Brooks UMC youth meet in the upstairs L.O.F.T. which stands for “Living Our Faith Together”.  Come and join us as we grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ and live out our Christian faith!
High School and Middle School Students meet in the L.O.F.T on Sunday mornings at 10:00am. Sunday Small Group discussions are designed to help youth dive into Scripture and apply it to their every day lives.
6:00pm - 8:00pm (during the school year)
We meet in the L.O.F.T. and start each evening with a fellowship meal from the Snack Bar followed by a teaching moment and small groups. After small groups, students will play games such as dodge ball, kickball, or volleyball in the gym or participate in other special activities that will change from week to week.
Fellowship Outings and events: Throughout the year fellowship outings or special events are scheduled such as Laser Tag, Sky Zone, Bowling, Archery Tag, Scavenger Hunts, Christmas and End of the School Year parties, etc.
     Spiritual Growth Events:
DNOW: Disciple NOW is a weekend long event in March where students have the opportunity to attend high-energy worship events with other Fayette County youth from other churches and also participate in fun fellowship activities together.
Christian Concerts: Brooks UMC students attend Winter Jam every year which is a night of worship with multiple Contemporary Christian artists and bands and a nationally known youth speaker.
Mission Events:  Students are provided the opportunity to participate in weekend or week-long mission events. Examples of past experiences include the Appalachia Service Project, Bahamas Methodist Habitat, and Restoration ATL.
GRADUATE RECOGNITION SUNDAY:In May, we honor our High School Graduates with a special recognition time during the worship service that includes a video, an engraved Study Bible, and scholarship checks from Brooks Methodist Women and Second Chance Thrift Shop. Students also lead worship and give the message.

What is Youth Confirmation?

Confirmation is a time when Youth who are in the sixth grade and older have the opportunity to make a firm decision about whether you will claim the name “Christian” for yourself. If you were baptized as an infant, you will now have the opportunity to claim the vows that your parents have made on your behalf. As a teen or pre-teen, you are at a special age when you are not only making more decisions for yourself but also may find yourself questioning what you believe. The confirmation preparation classes are a great time to ask those questions. Classes meet for 8 weeks to discuss the meaning of the Christian faith, the history and teachings of the United Methodist Church, and what it means to commit to being a disciple of Jesus and a member of the church .
