VIRTUAL WORSHIP SERVICES ONLY
Due to the rapid increase in coronavirus cases in the local area and state, Brooks United Methodist Church has made the decision to hold virtual only Worship services until further notice to keep our congregation and their families healthy and safe. We will continue to stream our services Live on Facebook here and recorded services are available through YouTube here and our website here. We will reconvene our in-person Worship services as soon as we believe it is safe to do so.
SAFETY GUIDELINES
1. On Sunday morning, only the Sanctuary building (Building One) will be open during worship service.
2. Please maintain six feet of social distance from other families from the time you leave your car, throughout the worship service, and also returning to your car.
3. Face masks are required. Please wear your own face mask. If you do not have one, we will have some on hand that we can provide for you.
4. To maintain social distancing in our restrooms, we ask that only one person be in the restroom facilities at a time.
5. Automatic free-standing hand sanitizing stations will be available at the entrance area of the church so that you may sanitize your hands after touching any hard surfaces.
6. Although we love hugging and greeting one another, please refrain from physical contact with other people. We will not have a time of meeting and greeting during the worship service or hold hands at the end of the service.
7. Sanctuary seating will be spread further apart. Please sit with your own family unit and maintain six-feet of social distance from other families.
8. An offering box will be located at the entrance of the sanctuary to assist us in giving our gifts to God in a safe manner. We will not be passing offering plates during the service.
9. It has been discovered that singing is a risky behavior because it projects viral droplets further into the air and they remain suspended longer. Because of this, the choir and congregation will not sing. During the worship service, our Choir Director will sing from the pulpit. We ask the congregation to participate by listening to him and meditating on the projected words of the hymn on the wall.
10. At the end of the worship service, we will dismiss the congregation by rows to help maintain social distancing.
11. Because the risk is high for children’s activities, there will be no nursery or children’s church during this time.
12. Other church activities will remain suspended at this time. Small Groups will meet via Zoom. The church office is open regular office hours and we ask you wear a mask to keep staff healthy and safe.
