SAFETY GUIDELINES

We recommend but do not require the wearing of masks in worship.  We will, however, continue to practice social distancing and will provide sealed communion elements for your safety.  We appreciate your patience and understanding in helping to keep everyone safe during the pandemic. The church will continue to practice the other aspects of safe worship for a little while longer including:

1. No personal contact. (Please use a welcoming Brooks UMC elbow bump to greet your neighbor.)

2. Please use our hand sanitizer stations if you come in contact with any hard surfaces.

3. Please reflect on words to hymns instead of singing them aloud if you have your face mask removed. (singing forces more breath molecules into the air which is one way the disease is thought to spread).

4. We will continue to keep the offering box in the back and not pass the offering plates.

5. We will also continue to use single, sealed communion elements.

Also remember to…

1. To maintain social distancing in our restrooms, we ask that only one person be in the restroom facilities at a time.

2. Although we love hugging and greeting one another, please refrain from physical contact with other people. We will not have a time of meeting and greeting during the worship service or hold hands at the end of the service.

3. Sanctuary seating will be spread further apart. Please sit with your own family unit and maintain six-feet of social distance from other families.

4. Because the risk is high for children’s activities, there will be no nursery or children’s church during this time.

5. Church facility rental and use by the public or local community \ will remain suspended at this time.

COMMUNION

On the first Sunday of every month, we will be serving communion during our worship service. We will be doing it a little differently to prevent the spread of Covid-19.  We will bless individual communion wafer and juice single sealed sets during the worship service and distribute them you can participate in communion in church or safely at home if you choose.

For those attending worship online, we invite you to gather bread and juice in your own home so we can participate in communion together.
