FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When do you meet?

Our worship service is held every Sunday at 11:00am, in-person at 119 Morgan Mill Road, Brooks and online through Facebook Live.  We also upload our services to YouTube the following Wednesday so you can go back to watch any sermon you missed or want to share with others.  Everyone is welcome here at Brooks UMC.  Our service is comprised of prayer, message and music.  Our music is composed of traditional hymns and some praise songs as well.  Currently our church choir is suspended, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  But our Music Director still fills the Lord’s house with praise with solo music and special guest instrumentalists.  Whether you worship in-person or online, you will always feel at home at Brooks UMC.

I love music, is there something for me?
If you have a heart for music, then you will love Brooks UMC!  All voices are welcome and no audition is required to join the church choir.  The choir practices on Wednesday evenings at 7:15pm and helps lead worship services on Sunday mornings. The choir also prepares special musical presentations for Christmas and Easter.  If singing is not your passion, we have a        handbell choir as well. You do not need to know how to read music to join. We are all learning together and all levels from beginner to experienced are welcome.  Kids can become involved in learning music through our Music and More on Wednesday evenings. They learn songs, play handbells, and are occasionally acquainted with other musical instruments. Go to the Ministry tab to find more information on all our music ministries. (Due to Covid-19, all music programs have been suspended)

Do you have communion?
In the United Methodist Church, we have an open Communion table which means that all persons who seek to be in relationship with Jesus are invited to take Communion. At Brooks UMC, we serve communion on the first Sunday of every month and during other special worship services.  Grape juice is used out of consideration for recovering alcoholics and enables participation of children and youth.
